I’m a nerd. This has been a fundamental part of who I am since I was a little kid. Even now, as my identity is defined by Christ, my nerdiness has not left me. I love learning about ideas and discussing them with others.
Though my interests as a kid were centered around computers and technology, they have changed to history, philosophy, and literature. During my time at college, I became passionate about learning about how people think, what they believe, and why they believe it. I love to learn about how concepts and beliefs have developed over time and how each generation has incorporated them.
I decided to create this website to explore that passion for ideas. For me, this website is more about the pursuit of questions than the pursuit of answers. With any luck, I will learn a great deal about the development of Christian theology through this project. May my studies here also edify you.
I was born in the Central Valley of California. I have worked in a variety of career fields. After high school, I worked as an assistant in a mortuary before enlisting in the Marine Corps. After the Marines, I worked as an intelligence analyst for a military contractor. I then began work as a small business office manager.
During this time, I earned a BA in English from California State University, Stanislaus. Currently, I am a public school teacher in Northern California.
Within the Church, I have served in a variety of ministries both in large and small roles over the years. From running a sound board to passing out soup, my goal has always been to meet the needs of wherever I am. Recently, I served as the Chairman of the Board of Elders and as the Music Ministry Leader for Lucerne Community Church. I stepped down from those positions to focus on my family and my career; however, I am still involved in our Music Ministry as a guitarist and vocalist.
As for next steps, I am currently unsure where the Lord will lead me. I have a desire to earn a Masters of Divinity and, eventually, a Doctorate in Theology. But, I am also drawn to becoming an educational administrator, such as a principal. In the meantime, I trust that the Lord will illuminate my path and guide me in the direction where He can best use me.
