Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
School has ended, and the summer has come. As a teacher, I am very thankful for the summer break because it is an opportunity to rest and recuperate. Additionally, it is a great opportunity to reflect on how the school year went and to plan for the coming school year. For many, the summer brings opportunities for traveling, visiting family, and catching up on hobbies.
Plans for Enjoying the Summer Break
For me, enjoying the summer will largely be about doing some improvements around the house. My wife and I are excited to be welcoming our first baby boy at the end of the month. To prepare for the baby, I will be tearing down old plaster walls, installing insulation, and installing dry wall in the soon-to-be nursery. It will be a big job, but I am hopeful that work will progress smoothly. If all goes well, I will also be completing a lot of needed yard improvements.
Along with being excited about the arriving baby, I am looking forward to reading over the summer and further developing the website. Being a hobby, the website isn’t high on my priority list. However, there are something that I am hoping to accomplish. I plan to expand the glossary/dictionary section to include more words. Also I need to more fully define the words that are already present. If possible, I hope to write my first academic article with full source citation.
Studying the Word of God
One of the biblical studies projects that I am will be picking back up over the summer is writing summaries for each of the books of the Bible. I started the project last summer but had to set it aside when school began. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of the information, so I will need to start over. However, I look forward to it. I know there are already numerous summaries available out there to read, but having to writing them myself edifies me more than reading would alone.
May the Lord bless and keep you in his ways.
