Grace and peace to you from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.
I am excited to return after having been away for the past three months. Sadly, work has been so demanding and stressful that I did not have the time and energy to sit down and write. After cutting back on a few things in my life and developing a weekly schedule, things are much brighter.
What Have I Been Up To?
Outside of work, I am enjoying the life of fatherhood. My wife and I often comment about how strange it is that it doesn’t feel strange to have a baby in the house. I thought at first that it would be a surreal experience; however, it has felt so natural, as if he has always been in our life. It has been a great time, even though it is challenging at times. I’m excited to watch him hit all those wonderful milestones, such as crawling, walking, talking, and so on. I am so thankful for family everyday.
While I was away, I also inherited a small personal library from a friend who has moved away. Because my personal library at home has grown so much, I am in the process of cataloging the books. I am using an online cataloging system called Library Thing. Additionally, I am labeling all of my books using the Dewey Decimal System to more easily find books on a particular subject. I was surprised at how much I have enjoyed the process.
I have also been doing some reading. For fun, I recently read The Hobbit by Tolkien for the first time. It was interesting to see the differences between the book and the movies. I must say that I enjoy both equally, though for different reasons. However, I won’t carry on about all that now. Currently, I am reading The Weight of Glory, a collection of addresses by C. S. Lewis. It has been a very interesting read so far, about which I plan on writing more on in the near future. I have also been reading the writings of the Ante-Nicene fathers, on which I will write more later.
What’s Next Now That I am Back?
Now that I am back, I am hoping to begin publishing a new post each week. I plan to sit down and start mapping out the future posts that I will write. While I enjoy writing whatever happens to be on my mind that week, I would like to develop some overall direction. Your prayers in this regard would be much appreciated.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May your faith in Him grow daily.
